Known as Frank to telemarketers, but Curt to his family and loved ones, Frank Curtis Costello passed away Friday, April 19, 2024, following a brief but valiant battle against brain cancer. Curt was born in South Haven, Michigan, on Tuesday, September 6, 1955, to Frank Roy Costello and Sue Ann Beatty. His early life was not easy, coming of age in a household affected by divorce, but several traits sustained him throughout life, being self-effacing, generous, wise, even-keeled, and a bringing folksy wit to whatever room he occupied. He brought an innate talent and attention to detail to whatever he did, whether it was as an automotive restorer, number-cruncher, armchair detective, popcorn maker, general contractor. He served many but he never asked for anything in return. Although he began to settle into retirement, he was unjustly denied the opportunity to enjoy the stimulation of projects. He is survived by wife and son, Stacy and Taylor; four siblings, Debbie, Mark, Anne, and Mary; brother and sister in-laws, Ed Kimball, Mark McChesney, Liz Costello; and countless others who he mentored or otherwise positively enriched their lives. In lieu of flowers, donations in Curt’s name can be made to Hospice of the Valley at Ryan House. Private funeral arrangements handled by Hansen Mortuary.
